Dr Lutz Krause
Dr Lutz Krause is a heading the Bioinformatics team at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.
His principal research interests are investigating the role of the human microbiota in health and disease, genome research of parasites, biomarker discovery and epigenetics.
In particular, Dr Krause is interested in the role of the mammalian gut microbiota in the development of diabetes, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders and allergies.
His team is further developing bioinformatics software for the analysis of biomedical research data, for mining, visualizing and comparing multiple 16S rDNA samples, for analysing next-generation sequencing data, and for biomarker discovery.
