Expected outcomes
AID will deliver:
• A world-class centre with capacity to undertake research on human infectious agents.
• Expanded collaborative networks for infectious disease research utilising cell biology, nanotechnology, protein biochemistry, molecular and structural biology expertise.
• Improved translational focus, with projects undertaken on diagnostics, vaccine development, design and application of new antimicrobials, and the design of novel therapeutics against microbial virulence determinants. AID will deliver translational outcomes that contribute to the Australian health system and economy.
