Established in 2011, the Australian Infectious Diseases Research Centre is a multidisciplinary network based at The University of Queensland, and the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.

Associate Professor Zhi Ping (Gordon) Xu (ARC Future Fellow)

Associate Professor Gordon Xu is a group leader in Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, UQ.

His research interests lie in development of functionalised nanoparticles for target delivery of various therapeutics (antigens, genes and drugs) to treat tumour and infection diseases through promoting the specific immune responses and/or chemotherapy.

A/Prof Xu is also interested in applying these platforms to deliver herbicides and dsRNA to control the weeds and viruses.
