AID researchers are drawn from infectious disease experts from across QIMR and UQ who apply leading technologies to identify, understand and prevent infectious disease.

Professor Frederic Meunier (NHMRC SRF)

Frederic Meunier

A focus of Professor Frederic Meunier’s laboratory is to understand molecular interactions underlying infectious processes to find new ways of counteracting the devastating effect of neurotropic agents on the nervous system (tetanus and botulinum neurotoxins, West Nile virus, Rabies, and Poliovirus).

His work on tiny lipids known as phosphoinositides has helped identify new ways of counteracting infection.
