Ian Frazer

The work of immunologist Professor Ian Frazer and his colleague, the late molecular virologist Dr Jian Zhou, has led to the development of a vaccine which prevents infection with HPV and cervical cancer.

Professor Frazer won the 2005 CSIRO Eureka Prize for Leadership in Science, the Australian of the Year in 2006, and the Prime Minister's Prize for Science in 2008.
