Associate Professor Ben Schulz (NHMRC CDF)

Ben Schulz

Dr Ben Schulz’s research focuses on the mechanisms and biological roles of glycosylation.

Glycosylation is the most abundant and complex post-translational modification of proteins and is essential for protein folding, fine-tuning protein enzymatic activity, and determining protein-protein interactions.

Dr Schulz is interested in glycosylation in pathogenic bacteria, to develop diagnostics, therapies, and vaccines.
