Professor Darrell Crawford
Darrell Crawford is Professor of Hepatology, and Head, Discipline of Medicine, The University of Queensland.
He is a clinician with 25 years of experience with past appointments to the Queensland Liver Transplant Service and Director, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Princess Alexandra Hospital.
He is a past president of the Australian Liver Association and Gastroenterological Society of Australia, and is president-elect (2013) of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver.
His research interests include therapeutics of chronic viral hepatitis, particularly hepatitis C virus infection.
He has developed a successful clinical trials unit at Greenslopes Hospital, and is a member of the protocol steering committee for national studies related to HCV in this country.
