AID researchers are drawn from infectious disease experts from across QIMR and UQ who apply leading technologies to identify, understand and prevent infectious disease.

Associate Professor Lachlan Coin (ARC Future Fellow)

Associate Professor Lachlan Coin is studying variation in the complete set of DNA of both hosts and infectious agents, and associating this variation with phenotype (observable characteristics).

He is also interested in identifying rapid, cheap biomarkers for both early-stage disease diagnosis and prognosis and understanding biological pathways that are active during disease.
