AID researchers are drawn from infectious disease experts from across QIMR and UQ who apply leading technologies to identify, understand and prevent infectious disease.

Dr Kate Markey

Dr Kate Markey is a clinician researcher whose research focuses on the immunological complications of bone marrow transplantation.

Previously she has focused on the role of professional antigen presenting cells and their contribution to immune function (and dysfunction) after BMT, and her current projects are centred around developing new predictors of severe infection in this high risk patient group.

Kate is currently a Queensland Health Junior Clinical Research Fellow.

She is a final-year Haematology Registrar and Senior Research Officer at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.
