Funding

AID funds research capacities in the areas of bioinformatics, therapeutics and polymicrobial infections. Additional seed funding to promote UQ-QIMR collaboration has been used to support 12 collaborative projects.

The UQ Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and QIMR Director have allocated matched funding of $600K to support collaborative research projects between our institutions. Thus, 9 collaborative project grants were offered in 2012, with another 3 grants to be awarded in 2013.

Selection criteria:

Principles that will be applied to the selection of collaborative seed projects include:

  1. Building new collaborations between UQ and QIMR
  2. Building of new research areas/directions between current UQ and QIMR collaborators
  3. Applicants must be AID members
